Egyptian-Style Bellydance
Deanna Meraki
Egyptian-style bellydance, performed and taught with soul.
About
Dance, with soul
Deanna Meraki is an Australian bellydancer, teacher and performer who has spent close to a decade sharing Egyptian-style dance across Australia and overseas. She recently returned from two years living and working in Cairo, studying Oriental dance, culture and language at its source.
Her work moves between Classical Oriental, Baladi and Shaabi, carried by a simple belief: that dance is most alive when it is honest. Meraki is a Greek word for doing something with soul, love and a piece of yourself left behind in the making. It is how she dances, and how she teaches.
Whether on stage or in the studio, Deanna dances with heart, sincerity and delight.
